My vehicle has low miles on it, and it appears that most of the systems operating properly. The problems I am having now are mainly fuel related. I put on a new fuel filter and fuel pump, so that can be eliminated as a culprit. When I got the car the previous owner had mixed up all the vacuum lines and hoses connected to the carburetor. I pulled the carb, replaced the AP diaphragm, removed the shutter valve and sealed up its ports, replace the mounting gaskets over and under, and reconnected all the components correctly.

The engine will start and run good with the choke set 3/4 the way closed, but it idles around in park at 3K and about 2k in drive(AT). I can see the the AP is working properly. I can only guess that the idle circuit is not working properly.

Can anyone recommend a course of action to take in order to sort this out. The rebuild kit would take me time to get, but I was hoping to resolve this without having to buy one at this time. I would like to simply cut some new mounting gaskets, and reuse everything else if that is possible. I would like to get some insight on what is going on.

Now I want to run my A/C, but with the carb adjusted this way it surges way above normal power.

I would also like instructions on how to adjust the mixture screw and idle screw. They have been tampered with, and I believe they are off. All other settings on the car appear to be factory settings.
