SEVERE crushed needle bearings:
guessing the bearing fell, got crushed, and then disintegrated, the debris came up through the oil pickup and got sent to the front rotor.
the eccentric shaft is fine,as well as the front and rear main bearings, but the rotor bearing pictured, as well as the other rotor bearing(no scoring, but a lot of brass showing) are trash. engine ran "OK" like this. produced a noise with the clutch pedal depressed, as well as changing the idle rpm with the clutch in/out http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01503.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01502.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01501.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01500.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01499.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01498.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01497.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01496.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...e/DSC01495.jpg |
Kurt, for future reference, to avoid this happening, make sure to assemble all of the front cover stuff, and tighten the front hub bolt with the rear of the engine facing down. That way, there is no way the needle bearings can get off-center and pinched by the spacer.
