Any thoughts anyone.

Tried the skinny end of a crowbar, hammering it into the crack between the 2. I've never heard of this prob. I would get a friend to hold the motor and you shake the back end of the tranny all around.

Wonder if you can just pull the trans off?

Never had chance to do an FD but on the other pull-clutch cars I've done, you can just pull the transmission off and the throwout bearing comes off of the clutch fork, stays attached to the pressure plate's fingers. I have never once had to screw around trying to unclip the TO bearing with the trans still on the engine, trying to work through a small access hole!

If you're reusing the pressure plate, you still have to remove the throwout bearing, but at least you have better access to it. If you're replacing the clutch, you just put a new throwout bearing on the clutch fork, and snap it into the new pressure plate after you bolt the trans back on :)
