RX-7 Engine / Body Kit
 

Hey guys...
Im thinking about buying a 1985 RX-7 and...
I was wondering if it would be possible (im not very good with cars tho i can do work on them) to drop a larger engine (ie Crate 350) into a 1985 RX-7

I was also wondering if there is somewhere on the net that i can purchase a body kit for the car...

bodykit: yes (search yahoo on "85 rx7 body kit")
350: doubtfull, those are big ass motherfuckers compared to a 1st gen

Body kit yes. As to a 350 why? The idea of having an RX7 is the motor.

'85 rx7 with a 302 v8 from a mustang

A 350 will fit into an RX-7. There are two places on the web that sells kits to install a 350 or 302 into the RX-7. The kits are the engine mounts and transmission bracket. Go to www.grannysspeedshop.com or www.rx-7v8.com. This one is based in Canada, just outside Ottawa. The guy who owns this one also sells body kits for the RX that transforms it into a viper/corvette looking car. There's pics on his website. The cost of the kit is $4300 Cdn. and it also includes the headlights and tail lights.
