The answer is 42.

Really dude... I mean, there are over 15 different types of rotaries out there, not counting different variations of them!

I assume from your screen name you mean a Series 5 FC motor? N/A or Turbo? Shortblock or fully assembled long block?

SPECIFICS NEEDED!!!

I'm not the OP, but I'm willing to narrow it down.

The simplest method is to start with the weight of a 12a and 13b longblock in N/A stock trim. From there you can add in the weight of the turbos, which is fairly close among all cars and applications. Same goes for headers and such too.

For those inclined to tinker, we can start with the weight of the shortblocks and then add on the weights of the specific intakes, carbs, headers, water pumps, alternators, etc.. Once again the weights of a lot of the accessories are going to be the same among most makes and models.

well i ment to say the 91 turbo 2 engine and the 3rotor of the JDM eunos cosmo sedan during the 1990s

I like how this didnt get answered at all. How much does each engine weigh, intake to exhaust manifold? Talking like 12a, 13b s4 (turbo), 13bs5(turbo), 13b-rew turboed, 20b.

I like how your original question sucked ass.

well, the 4 port 13B in my repu(not origional, its something out of the 80s), was pretty heavy, but it was not heavy enough that i couldn't pick it up off the ground, and put it in the trunk of my car a few feet up... it was a short block tho

Did you guys all just want to yammer or do ne of you know the weights of ne of the rotary engines? Is there a place to look up this info, I'd assume there is. I remember someone in here saying a LS-1 didn't weigh much more than a 13b and I thought that was complete bs but I have no idea what the 13b weighs except that u can pick it up urself.

blueskaterboy 09-10-04 10:47 AM

lets start with how much do the different rotors and housings weigh?

Jeff20B 09-10-04 02:05 PM

This info is only semi-accurate, so it shouldn't be taken as fact.

13B
22 '74 13B carb and intake manifold
27.5 front plate Y
29 intermediate R5
34.5 rear plate Y
11.5 rotor
11.5 rotor
14 rotor housing
14 rotor housing
15.5 13B E shaft
33 flywheel (without P plate or clutch)
I'd estimate the tension bolts are about 5 or 6 LBS, but I could be wrong.

218.5 total without waterpump, alternator, P plate or clutch

tjgosurf 09-12-04 03:57 PM

You fucking rock Jeff.

Whoah, so I weigh almost as much as my engine. But I'm not putting out nearly that much hp.
