Rotary fuel use at idle
I'm a bad rx7 owner. Gas prices have made me park the 18-21 mpg 1983 rx7.
I was thinking I could up my MPG using some ecomodding driving tips like Coasting in neutral , engine on or Engine off coasting and bump starting the car. Do Rotary engines use (Much)more gas than a 4 stroke engine at idle? Will gentle bump starting the rotary engine while rolling cause any harm? SC |
bump starting is totally fine.
the engine will use more fuel at idle than a normal piston engine, the idle mixture is adjustable, so this can be helped a little, but it is still going to be higher than a normal piston |
