Rotary books/good reads & information

Hey guys was wondering if you guys had any good books or any good reads in general on rotaries, or any place to go to learn a lot about them that you'd recommend

The club has been an awesome place to learn about rotaries, but I REALLY want to start studying up and getting educated on the topic.

Please n thanks for the responses :icon_tup::icon_tup::icon_tup:

ive got an old copy of "How to Modify Your MAZDA RX-7" by Dave Emanuel w/ Jim Downing, and a old old Technical manual and catalog from/by Racing Beat called "The Heart of Rotary Performance" ... (copyright 1986)

both have very good info, ignition timing theories and suggested start points for stock thru P. Port engines, weber/mikuni/dellorto jetting rec's... and you everyone here would pop major wood for all the things RB used to sell for roataries i.e. drysump kits/front covers, mechanical fuel injection, MFR parts everywhere

Just bought the RB book, and their website has a lot of good info too!

I'm trying to find a cheaper sale of the Dave Emanuel book

Sorry about the UK links, but I'm sure you can equate them to the US... besides, Amazon pretty much bestrides the globe now anyway lol. Just what I could pull up real quick, like

This one gives a good general overview on all the generations of RX-7, maybe a bit old now and IMHO not as good as Mark Warner's one.

This one is an excellent overview of all the models and types of RX-7 but is essentially just that; there's no techincal depth or tuning advice. But it is a great reference tool and gives you literally the minutest detail over what makes your model RX-7 special lol. But hey, aren't they all special? But Jesus, 130 quid!? I'd hope you could find it cheaper, mine was around £20

If you want more period background stuff from back int he day there are several gazetteers of collected road tests from magazines, such as which has a good mix of US, UK and Aussie articles and which is similar. Interesting to read what professional testers thought of the cars back in context when they were brand new

If you want what are essentially catalogues of all the JDM aftermarket goodies available then Hyper Rev are the only place to go. There are now seven RX-7 volumes, the first being oldest when a set of sideskirts and wheels made a trick FD, the latest being full-on FEED TypeV widearched bonkers-ness. they're all in Japanese, but the pictures are worth slavering over nonetheless! Pure FD part porn! Hyper Rev Book MAZDA RX-7 FD3S & FC3S No.5 Japanese | eBay
