Rotary in a boat

the boat would be a donzi classic 18

Im thinking

twin turbo 20b air/water intercoolers, larger turbos

I would probably go with a racing style or duoprop setup

running a sustained 6k full boost cruising speed.

My questio are.

can a rotary handle this. Piston engines do it I cant imaging why a rotary couldnt

how would I go about mounting the engine to the stearndrive. Ill probably have to have a bellhousing made.

whew..... I dunno about full boost at cruising, but they can definatly take a beating when cooled properly. As far as mounting goes.... couldn't tell ya, I know jack shit about boats.

If you are using a stern drive make sure it can handle the HP of a 20B and the rpms you will see. A boat engine needs a lot of TQ not so much HP. Remember that.. A 6k crusin speed is prob 3.5k above what that boat stock crusises at.

My donzi right now does about 63mph at 5000 rpms.

I have seen people push as high as 6500 with built motors.

Im thinking a mercruiser BRAVO2 duo prop setup.(two propellers inline, counter-rotating)
