Reviving a good 13B

It is in an '89 that has been sitting for 5 years or so.
It has less than 50K since being installed. A Mazda re-man. 13B n/a.

What would one do/inspect prior to installing said engine in another FC for the duration of its life-span?

Rebuild it. Sitting for that long can cause damage to the seals. But i bet all the rotors and irons are in okay shape.

I could probably do that... I have never seen the inside of a rotary (yet), but I have experience with H.P. reciprocating engines.

You are referring to the seals on the sides of the rotor(s), and the apex seals, correct? If I'm gonna get into the internals of this 'alien technology' who offers a good instructional video?; and, which parts would I want to consider for upgrade?

The motor is going into my '91 'vert (a CA car) and does'nt need to produce prodigious amounts of h/p - I want my wife to be able to enjoy driving it with the top down and air on, city driving; and for somewhat "fun" canyon runs. The canyon/track assault vehicle will be the '89 coupe that is donating the motor.

The '89 also happens to be the very first RX that I ever owned:icon_tup: , and the reason that I, personally, have never owned a piston engine vehicle since 2000. I bought the '89 and immediately went home and put "FOR SALE" signs in my '67 & 75 Camaros, '87 LTD II Police Interceptor (a 5.0 SHO in a 4 door LTD II, (courtesy Perris P.D. auction. I had to rebuild the motor though.), '64 Cadillac, everything with a piston...
