Those housings are bad, but they'll "work".

My P-port has housings about that bad, and with all the old seals (all expenses were spared in building the engine) it still does 90psi compression.

Just don't expect much out of the engine. If you want something that will go another 150k miles or so then you will *need* new housings.

WOW....I would never use housings that looked like that!!

They are certainly worn, as almost ALL 85 and earlier housings will be. IN fact, that is quite mild to what I usually see. It is near impossible to find reuseable rotorhousings for the early engines.

I personally would not build an engine for a customer with those without first explaining like was done above. Even then I wouldn't like it...however, a soft seal like atkins should seal up relatively well after an extended 2000-3000 mile breakin and I feel they could certainly be used. Compression would probably level off around 100 even then. It would make good power but might not be the most reliable and smoothest engine in the world.

hey dog

I would say "go for it"

in the meantime, save up for new housings.

at least you will have the car running while we figure out if you can build a 13b
