Quik help. My S5 just died, electric issue

I just replace the light and wiper switches, and replace the radiator also. The car had the battery connected for 20 hours probably. Just refilled the radiator, connected the battery, turn the ignition switch to ACC, all lights went on, and when i turn it once more to start, alls light went off and silence was absolute.

Checked the battery and it has charge, the alternator seems to be alive too. Tried with jumper wires and nothing. I pressed the brake pedal and hear something, then i saw signs of life in the clock, but when i tried the jumper again nothing happened.

If somebody has an idea, please tell me what can i do. I'm going to try to reset the fusebox but i can't thing of nothing else. Thanks for reading.

make sure you didnt blow one of the main fuses, the ones on the engine bay, or the ones inside also make sure that none of the plugs under the dash came loose when you where replacing the switches next step check your starter

Just came back from the car. It seem to be something with the wiring or switches. The car looks like death, but when i turn the key only half the way, the clock shows some little light, but it dies when i turn the key completely or if i move the switch to high beam.

Is late now, so tomorrow i will dig into the dash again and try to find the problem

The Battery:uh: Never checked the battery.

Well it was pretty obvious. The warning lights ans all of that stuff use less than 1 amp, but crancking uses probably the 600 from the battery, so when i tried to start the motor the battery died.

Went to advanced autoparts for the autopsy and then got a new one. Done. I just freaked out and over reacted i guess.

I'm glad it was something simple like that. Good luck and take care. I'm less than an hour from cary if you ever need anything. I normally have parts laying arround or know someone who does. where are you from originaly?

Pablo Escalera 03-12-08 09:32 PM

I'm from Mexico, and have been living here for about a year.

I'm looking for a Turbo rear end, if you know who has one please let me know. And thanks for the support.

polito Racing 03-13-08 10:41 AM

i dont know anyone with a TII rear end but i do know someone with a gtu rear end if that helps.

Pablo Escalera 03-13-08 10:00 PM

Thanks, my S5 is a gtu, have no problem with the rear end. The only problem is that i want to swap a turbo in it, so i'm looking for some parts to do it.
