Question about exhuast
Just wondering if anyone could give me a reason why the exhuast ports run the way they do? And why not just run them straight out the housing?
|
 not sure what you're asking here.
if you mean why don't they come out the the side housings, well, then that's how they are now on the 13B-Renesis. |
so what keeps people from modding their own engines to that? I'm trying to figure out the purpose of their path they have, to me going out the side housing made alot more sense

then you're a real visionary and i would suggest you try to get a job with Mazda or some other Mazda rotary engine specialists (Downing, Mandeville, Mederer, Lemon, etc.) - and i'm seriously not being facetious, either ... :)
if you have the resources and knowledge of tracing the rotor's path (to prevent seal loss/damage) and tools (to cut and tap the housings, re-route the water passages, fab your own exhaust, etc.), i would imagine nothing prevents you from doing it ... but how many people can do all of this and come out with a functioning engine? |
No it was just curiousity really, was looking at street and bridge port pics and was wondering.
