proper start up of a sitting t2?
yea my friend just got a wire harness put into his t2 and a new turbo cooling line and everything set up and ready to go, only thing is that the car has been sitting for nearly a year now. the motor was rebuilt and started once ever since the wire harness burnt up and thing ended up sitting. any suggestions on how to start it up?

I recommend you turn the key.
If you're really paranoid, you could pull the injector fuse and crank it for a little while before you try to really start it - give the oil injectors time to get things lubricated and build up some fuel pressure since after a year it might have dropped a bit. A year is marginal on your gas so you might try draining it and refilling but you are probably fine. Basically I wouldn't worry about it too much. |
yeah. just start it.
if you want you can put a couple teaspoons of oil in the plug holes or crank without the plug wires connected until you get an oil pressure reading, but neither is absolutely necessary. |
