Profec A install help
I finally got my Profec A, but I didn't get any instructions with it. I have a 87 TII. I haven't looked at it much, but anyone have tips on the wireing and vac lines. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

DO you only have to wire the power and ground? That looks like the only wires that are exposed. Do you just wire the power to an accesory wire? how bout the vac lines?

You can download and print the instructions from Greddy's website, there are some settings you will need the instructions to adjust properly, and to make it "learn" properly.. What car are you putting in ? it doesn't work that well without a ported wastegate on a TII, even with that it still tends to creep past setpoint.. you will end up setting at .5 bar and it will run 9-10 psi instead of 7, hope it works better with my new wastegate than it did with my stock one..Max

If you're using the stock turbo then the other 2 lines just go inbetween the small hard line coming from the compressor outlet of the turbo and the wastegate. |

Originally posted by 13BAce Yes, just power and ground. Just hook up the power wire to something that gets +12V when the key is in the "on" position. 1 vacuum line goes to the intake manifold--use the same source that the stock pressure sensor uses. thanks man. I think that I will be able to figure it out. I will port the wastegate when I get the 5series turbo, for now I will deal with creep. So far it hasn't gone past 10psi and it pretty steady curve. 13Bace if you could scan the instructions that would help a lot. If not Im sure I will figure it out. If you can scan them send it to c_shepherd7@hotmail.com or post it here and we can archive it for anyone else who may need it in the future.
Thanks for the help Oh yeah I noticed there was a forth nipple on the stepper motor. What does that hook up to? The greddy site didn't show anything of it. |
Originally posted by 13BAce I don't think that Greddy has installation instructions online, just operating instructions. I'm pretty sure that I still have my installation instructions. If anyone needs them just e-mail me at jfrederi@juno.com, and I'll scan them. |

You are not looking hard enough......
CLICK on TECHNICAL THEN use the PULL DOWN menu for ELECTRONICS THEN SELECT PROFEC.. It will take you to this page.... http://www.greddy.com/technical/profec_frame.htm Man, you can lead a horse to water......Max |
Thanx for the help guys. I found that page, but I was thinking there would be a better one. That will work out fine though.
Thanks again |
