Premixing 2 stroke engine oils with fuel
Is it possible to premix 2 stroke engine oils in fuel and use it for rotary? For example motul has oils for 2 stroke engines with great lubricating and heat absorbin characteristics. they recomend 98/2 percentage ratio on 2 stroke engines which dont have other lubricating sources. I guess 1% will be good for rotary. I'm asking it because special premixes like idemitsu are not available here and during autocross or track events i want to take extra care of my engine.

anybody?
this is the same oil which is used in motorcycles, go carts etc |
I premix 75 to 1 with 2 stroke. Same I use on my dirtbike. But it is for a specific application.

So it will not work for the rotary?
|
yes, it will work.

I have read here that many people use mixtures as lean as 70-80 to 1 ratios. back about 10-15 years ago, we used a roughly 20-30:1 mixtures on our dirt bikes. any one here run mixtures that rich? or do the rotaries not need that much oil.
i'm assuming that since you are mixing, that you have removed the oil metering pump? |
i run 1 oz per gal w/o oil metering pump

Let me clerify I use 75 to 1 on my 13b that has a twin setup.

I premix 1oz per gallon on a 13brew single turbo with the OMP removed.
Usually it is just the Valvoline ashless stuff you can buy at Checker or WalMart. |
my OMP is working, I just need extra protection during track events. thats why i want to premix with working OMP. thats why I asked if 1% was enough

u should use 4oz per tank...to much may cause detonation
