I have a secound gen 7 and where the rod for the actuator goes into the intake it is leaking air.
I need to know what goes behind the little diamond shaped flange in the side of the intake with the two little screws in it. Are there seals behind the flange that prevent air from leaking out?

if you have a rx-7 between this years 86-88 ,It's not air that's leaking... its exhaust gas when it gets to a certain rpm... anyways.. the diamond shape is where the ACV goes... if you got PICTURES to depict what your trying to say... it would be a lot easier...

it's the auxiliary port (5+6 ports) activation (the rod rotates a sleeve that allows additional intake air to go into engine)

There should be a gasket behind that flange.

ooh if it leaks... just scrub off the old gasket both on the surface of the lower intake manifold and on the actuators itself... and get another one from a dealer or something... cuz if it ain't even it ain't sealed right... I know this by experience...

Thanks guys, and by the way I hooked the actuators up to the air pump to make up for the pressure loss from the cat back.

So I guess I could just use gasket in a can. Also, the rod that turns the sleeve I can slide in and out a little even with the flange tightened. like there is something missing.

if should be held in tight... if its just a little... where the fork teeth where it holds the sleeves doesn't come off when push in or out.... make sure its free to rotate but it shouldn't move up and down...
