pilot hole in e-shaft all chewed up

Hi guys my pilot bearing hole in my 1980 12a eccentric shaft is really rough due to previous owners using shotty tools/methods of removing bearing and seal. I was happy to see Pineapple racing had a tool to ream out hole for an elarged bearing but they emailed me to let me know it was lost in the mail. Would it be a good idea to use a carbide bit with a dremel lightly to clean up the hole? I dont see much of a chance of tapping the pilot in the way it is now without munching the new bearing. Any help would be appreciated especially before I do something potentially stupid.

I had a race prepped shaft I didn't want to lose so I cleaned up the hole and had an oilite bushing made. Screw those little bearings and seals.

was the shaft still in your motor? or disassembled? my motor is good just bought it from a mate without a seal or bearing in place. What did you use to clean it up?

Still in the motor, used a dremel tool with a sanding drum attachment. I just took the little burrs that got kicked up above the ID of the hole.
