Phenolic Spacer?

Ive never heard of one for sale for our cars or seen one,.. But due to the high engine temps I think it would be beneficial to keep some of the engine temp off the UIM. I dont know if for some reason it wouldnt work on a rotary? Thoughts?

I bought a 1/4in 12x12 sheet of Phenolic material to try to make a spacer. I guess we will see how it goes!

I've been running them (UIM and LIM) for about three years now. Not sure if they help, but they seem to based on my AITs on track. Hard to say.

Be careful running a LIM gasket, I've seen them melt on two setups. I have a LIM heat shield which I believe has helped to keep the gasket in one piece.

yeah id use it on the UIM, unless i invested in the super high heat resistant material,.. the stuff I got was good up to like 300ºF,. but they have stuff up to 500ºF that I saw.

Rich, would you mind sharing some details. Where to purchase and a some specifics on the LIM heat shied... is it a sheet metal barrier between the turbo/manifold and the LIM?
