Parking Lights Won't Turn Off
 

Just as the title says...My parking lights won't turn off when I hook up my battery.
This is what happened...
Installed new tail lights and replaced the battery. Once I hooked up the new battery, I noticed that the parking lights stayed on (similar to when you turn on the first click on the light switch) once I hooked up the battery (without the key in the ignition and the light switch set to off).

Here are the steps I took to problem solve (through what I found through search on the forum and google):
-Replaced the tail lights back to the originals...no luck
-Checked the TNS Relay ...It did rain and I found some water in the box but still no luck. Tested the relay with another one and still no luck.
-Double checked the ground wire from the battery..no luck
-Checked BTN Fuse...no luck

Specs on the car:
93 RX7
Battery at passenger bin
Replaced with 99 tail lights

Other than suggesting using a multimeter and working your way back from the switch itself, this is hard to diagnose. For a problem like this to manifest after doing only what you said makes no sense. Have you tried rapidly switching your lights on and off to see if that trips something?

edit: after looking at the wiring diagram, the tns relay is what basically activates the parking light circuit. You said you checked it along with the btn though. Well, following the diagram the next step is the switch itself unless something is bypassing the tns and allowing power to the circuit.

Any update on the parking lights staying on?
I had this happen to me today. The car been parked and out of no where the lights turned on and the switch is off. I also checked all the fuses. Even took them out to see if they would turn off but they didn’t.

I been going through forms and no luck. If you solved the problem please let me know. Thanks

Yes! Turns out that Both TNS relays I used to test were bad. I would double check all of the relays, esp the ones in that one long relay box. Make sure that box is sealed and weather tight. First relay I check was bad because when it rained water got to it.
