Parallel advantages (fuel)?

What's the benefit of doing a parallel setup vs a stock series fuel setup?
What are the draw backs?

After doing a little bit of research what I've found (From a subby forum of all places) is that a parallel fuel system is better in the following respects to series:

1: All injectors will receive the same amount of pressure, ie the fuel rails will see the exact same pressure and thereby eliminating any lean conditions on the last injector in the stock series set up.

2: Provides improved throttle response due to the equalized pressure.

3: depending on how you accomplish the setup the old compression fitting, fuel rails, and FPR will be replaced for Aftermarket, SS, -AN fittings, etc.

Other benefits that have no bearing on performance from what I have read, and or rumor generated:

1: Slight horse power increase (rumor)
2: a "cool" mod which alters the exsisting setup for something "different"
3: Relatively cheap and easy to do.

Some possible down sides to the parallel mod are as follows:

If a lean condition is affected prior to the fuel rail then it will cause the entire injection system to run lean. However when compared to a series setup the catostrophic failure is not as likely to occur.

I'm sure I'm missing a whole bunch on the pros and cons about that, does anyone have something they could add?
