Overheating issue

Hello,
Installed an e fan on my '85 12a
(This one actually http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003OC...dir_mdp_mobile)
And since it looks like my car has been getting to the dangerous high temp mark. Now I also just installed a ported intake mani that blocked off the coolant that would go Into the intake manifold. That doesn't stop the flow does it?

I couldn't find how powerful this fan is, but I did get 2 of them. Thinking put one on each side of the radiator? One pushing air through and the other pulling? Right now I just have the one on pulling air..
Or could it be possible my thermo is bad? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Since you mentioned it when was the last time that your cooling system had any maintenance performed on it?
Thermostat and coolant flush and new coolant for starters.
2 fans(one on each side) is a waste of cash,so I wouldn't be thinking about that. You don't need fans operating all the time, and when the car is up to speed the fans do not work as efficiently as when you have no fan to block highway air flow.
You also need to know How high your temp is going and not rely on 30 year old Idiot gauges,so a Reliable aftermarket gauge could tell you exactly what your temp is.

Coolant is fresh, just put intake mani on, mikuni, e fan, racing beat headers/rest of exhaust, removed all emissions (rats nest, mikuni replaced Nikki). Forgot to drain it (again :p ) so when I pulled the oem intake manifold off it all came out.
I want to say my thermo is bad being it's 30 degrees out and after 5 mins of idling and easy driving it says I'm over heating while my e fan is on. Any idea what the temp should be or recommend a certain gauge to buy?

Have you change the thermostat and the water pump. this will help if you still have the original one the fins might be gone and the water is not circulating.

Well took it out again last night to try to find my vac leak (another fun issue) and it was reading perfect temp.... No overheating what so ever, might of just been one of those things that gets hung up from being off the road for a few months. Thanks guys
