Over heating FC

Yah I've been having some problems with my 1987 Rx-7, I brought the car bout 3months ago the first night I got it, it overheated (so I got screwed, but only for 1300 and 143k on it) now it has been sitting for that time and since then I've put in a thermo (it didn't have one at first) new water pump, fan clutch, and raditor. But it still overheats now I don't know what to do now :wallbash: beside the worst (no not selling it, I could never do that) but I'm thinking that the coolant passages are blocked, when I turn it on and let it idle it warms up to temp but doesnt over heat as soon as I drive it, it over heats with in a couple of minutes what else can it be? and if it is the passages do you know how much it will run me to get it done?

welcome to the board. :)

well, as far as the water cooling system is concerned, you seemed to have replaced everything, but many people overlook the importance of a good radiator cap. try that after flushing the system ... THOROUGHLY. also, check the coolant for excess pressure or products of combustion. it's possible that a water O-ring may have shit itself. unfortunately if it is a water seal, the only way to deal with that is the dreaded "R"-word.

beyond that, i'd say take at look at your oil cooling system since that dispels most of the heat produced by the engine. not exactly a likelihood, but worth a look.

This might be a really dumb question, but do you still have a fan shroud installed?
