oil line blew. think motor is ok?

was driven the 7 the other night when one of my oil lines blew. oil went every where in the engine.
after the oil light came on i would say i was still driving for maybe 3 to 4 min. till i had a spot to pull over
.i killed the motor and cruised into a mall. now i run premix in my motor. and since oct/nov did my last oil change. so premix tends to increase oil level over fill ups. car is driven as a nice weather /race events only. i got my racing beat stainless braided lines in. waiting on a conector then will start her up this week. but u guys think the motor should be ok ?

oh yeah car was driven only a couple times during the winter. filled up tank 4 times since nov.

Unless you are going to crack the motor open yourself, don't worry about it. If you fix the oil line issue and the car starts, be happy. Generally, if you damage the motor from a blown oil line the engine will seize from lack of lubrication. If that didn't happen, fix the problem and move on.

i once drove 15 miles on the highway at 65 mph after blowing an oil line to the cooler. i did notice the pressure go to zero but ignored it and drove the remaining 15 miles. it was night so i didn't notice it till morning but there was oil sprayed all down the drivers side of my car. that's when i realized the gauge wasn't faulty after all.. 6 months later ended up tearing the engine down due to blown coolant seal and the bearings looked fine.. so as Mahjik stated i wouldn't worry too much about it if it didn't lock up.

Same happend to me in the past, Drove 5 miles back, car still ran for 2000 miles after till apex seal gave out.

When rebuilding, I did need new rotor bearings as they were quite deflaked.

all in all, if your car is still running after you fix the oil problem, keep on driving it.

damn man, oil light / zero pressure happens and you ignore it? that's like ignoring a heart attack!
glad your engine is ok anyway.
