oil in fuel system
This is something I started doing a few years back, very scarce.
See, I like to put oil in the gastank and never really thought about it until I picked up a 7. I did it on my YZF a while back, maybe a capful or two in the tank. And now that I've read lots on the web about rotaries having metering lines. Besides the complexity of all that gear, its seems a great idea. To me, its the final step in having a well oiled machine, so to say. What times I have done it, I used simple motor oil. Reading here has me excited to get my car out of the shop and put a bit of TCW3 in the tank this time. Don't fuel lines/hoses dry out and eventually crack from heat stress coupled with no adequate lubrication? Do any of you that aren't premixing do this? |
a lot of people premix. I don't see any reason to put engine oil in the gas tank. I'd suggest to stick with premixing. Grab some Royal Purple or Idemitsu premix and have at...

If you search "premix" you will find lots of threads on this topic. Fuel lines do not need lubrication, the apex seals do.

What about cleaning/oiling the intake?
Is that what spraying fogging oil down the tube is for? |
