Oil filler tower
Ok, I have a new Mazda re-built motor for another project and I have to install the oil filler tower since it doens not come with one. The one I have just slides in place with no force, and it come out just as easy. Now the original motor held this in place pretty well and you needed to really work to get it out.
My question is does anyone use a Loctite type product for slip fit parts on this or do you deform the tower to provide an interference fit? Thanks, B. |
What kind of tower do you have??? tall or short???

It is the tall filler for an '86 N/A motor.

Well I have made a tool that I press in to the tube to make that part a little bigger.. and I press the tube back in the castiron...

So you just expand the filler to the point that it is a press fit? Well, in the absence of a special tool, do you think Loctite 690 (I think that is the stuff for a slip fit joint - high heat) would work?

it should work with no problem...
