Oil cooler questions from noob

Hello all,

I am a new guy here. I actually don't have an RX-7, but I do have an oil cooler from an 87 RX-7 on my Vortech supercharged Maxima. I am using it to help reduce blower housing temperature (and thus intake air temp) by running the blower oil feed through the cooler.

So, the question is, what pressure can the RX-7 oil cooler withstand? It looks to be a very stoutly built piece. Can it handle 75-100 psi?

Also, it appears there is a pressure relief feature built into the the thermostatic bypass valve (or whatever it is called). Anybody know what pressure it is supposed to open up at? Mine appears to open at about 40 psi.

Thanks!
