oil in combustion chamber bad?
I purchased this engine from someone recently. It is supposed to be rebuilt with all new seals, and never ran. I told him I was going to come over and compression test it. I noticed he added a good amount of oil into the engine. I recently purchased a rotary engine rebuild video, and did searching and watched videos online. This will be my first 13b rebuild. I actually bought the engine to use the new seals and piece together another engine with the best of all my rotors, housings, irons, etc
I was going to change out the water seals anyways, but what do you think about the rubber oil seals on the rotor. I noticed a lot of places that sell engine rebuild kits also only sell the o ring kits separate. I wanted to purchase that, but I also noticed it does not come with the oil control rings. You think the oil will damage the oil control rings? |
If he added oil into the internals and it hasn't ran, that is a good thing.Prevents rust and moisture from setting up on the inside.
Did you compression test the engine, and if so what were the numbers like? |

Did you compression test the engine, and if so what were the numbers like? I read that cold engine compression numbers on a rotary are actually higher, true? I'm not sure what to expect on a rebuilt engine |
