non running 88 n\a

I got an 88 n\a for an awsome deal.
But, It doesnt run. I checked for fuel and spark and I got it. I also used a piston compresion gauge and it read 45 pounds in each spark plug hole. Thats not good but it would seem the consistency of the readings in each hole would mean it should run. Right?
I also have a bad smell of gas after I try and crank it and the plugs were wet. This thing doesnt even try to crank and I dont really wana go for a new motor or a rebuild just yet. What do you guys think my next step should be?

Push-start it...

Which plug holes did you use? The top ones are where you take the compression reading. Also search for how to unflood a rotary engine.

I read the unflooding method and I will do that this afternoon.
I tested all four plug holes and they were all the exact same reading.

Were you leaving the other plugs in? Having all 4 plugs out will give you a low reading.

Flooded

Don't you have to remove the schrader valve from the compression tester to verify the needle it jumping evenlly for each rotor face while the motor is turning over?

Thank you soooo much guys, I did the unflooding technique and shes running great!!!

I just hold the button down. Does the same thing.
