no compression rear rotor

ok so heres the scoop bought an 86 non-turbo 5speed electric fan wire came loose enginge over heated blew. it melted the apexs seals in the rotor they cracked and are stuck. junked that motor. bought another one with 88,*** miles on it put it in put everything together (1st mistake) no start double checked every thing checked compression none on the rear rotor not even one spike. did the atf gig no help only while the fluid was in there for a spin or so then it went away. i heard you can take the manifold off and inspect the seals somewhat. i was thinking maybe spraying some penetraing oil on the seals if they check ok visually and trying to loosen them up any other ideas would be very helpfull i really dont want to pull it back out and put another one in (help please)

Your apex seals in your original motor didnt melt from overheating.

You are correct in that you can remove the manifold, spin the motor and spray some pb blaster or the like in there, but at this point you're pretty much pissing in the wind. You'll most likely have to remove that engine, b/c it's probably blown too. Sucks, that was an expensive/time consuming mistake you made.

Rich is right if your engine has no compression, there is no amount of ATF thats going to fix that. You will have to rebuild, but hey look at it as a learning experiance.
