No compression in the front rotor, help please
 

I have a 1980 rx7 and I took it into the shop and they said there was no compession in the front rotor. Either it was the two plugs in front, or the ones in back, were wet, while one of the rotors plugs were dry, what does this mean? I have searched the forum for the answers and I can't seem to find anything. It is way underpowered and I want to drive the damn thing. What is this ATF thing everybody is talking about? Thanks for the help to all that apply.

What were the plugs wet WITH?
If they were wet with water, then you WILL need a rebuild since you most likely blew a water seal.

If they were wet with fuel, then you simply flooded the engine.

The ATF trick is used to help lub up the apex seals and once the engine is cranked over, it helps clean up anything with the combustion chambers. Gernally, it's good to put about 1 tablespoon of ATF with the combustion chamber, change your sparkplugs (Usually, once sparkplugs become drenched, they won't fire a strong enough spark), and start her up.

What sometimes helps, also, is leave the plugs out and crank the engine a few times. Any of the shit stuck in the combustion chambers will come flying out.

if the engine is running and you still have no compression I would say you are looking at a rebuild. the centrifugal force of the engine spinning should have loosened any stuck apex seals if they are still there. add some oil or ATF and check the compression again, a good shop will have done this already, if there is still no compression then look at a replacement engine or rebuild. sorry
