Newbie!!!

hi all!!

Im looking to buy a 1992 - 1995 RX7 twin turbo but i have been told to be very careful about what you buy.

would you advise buying one thats had engine mods or buy a standard one and do it yourself?

How easy is the engine to tune to big BHP??

From what I hear, many 3rd gens need either a engine rebuild or turbo rebuild at 100,000 miles. These engines are capable of producing a lot of power. I know that people will commonly replace the more complex twin turbo setup with a larger single aftermarket turbo. You should try to post this in the 3rd generation section. You will probably get more help, and many of the people in that section have a lot of experience with these cars and can offer you the bet advice on what to look for in a fd.

In my opinion it's always better to get a well taken care of, stock, car. Unless you can tell the mods were done right, even then it's indicative of a harder driven car. I've only made the mistake once and it was horrible. Every thing I got into had been messed with by some idiot. I found solid, house-type wire in the damn thing.

Get a compression test on any potential.
