New ring bolts.. Do I need 'em?
 

So I'm doing the Kia diff swap on my 85 GSL-SE and have read some guys (other general forums) replace their ring gear bolts after swapping ring gears out and such.

Do I use what I have from the Kia or pursue this further and find new Kia ring bolts?

Are they stretch bolts, if not I don't see a problem with reusing them? You may want to ask in the first gen section.

The Kia FSM doesn't call them out as stretch bolts, nor requiring them to be replaced after servicing so I might just reuse them as you suggest.

Gonna do some more searching and if I can't decide maybe I'll hit the 1st gen forum. Thx!

no matter what I'd put a dab of RTV on them to help them stay sealed, or RTV and blue locktite

10-4. Went ahead and reused them with some red loctite and torqued to spec.
