new exhaust help

So I need a new exhaust to pass inspection so I went to the local garage and got a quote for just the cat-back and that came out $600?! Screw that. So instead, What do you guys think will be a good system from headers to tips?

From headers to tips would mean a Catalytic too.
If you need a Catalytic then you can get a RB catback system and pass.
The trick is not the Catback, but having a Cat and a working airpump, good tune, etc.

..and there really isn't anything that just comes as a slap on "kit" for emissions testing.
You start with a good cat.The rest is just pipe and mufflers. If you have a good cat,air pump, tune, etc then that is what will determine if you pass or fail.
Exhaust from the Catalytic back is up to you. From the engine to cat is vital though.
I've heard of guys running a good V-8 Cat with an split air tube. They past emissions testing. Then again some guys run 2 cats,in a row.Really if the engine has no running issues then if the cat is working there should be no problem with emissions
I just did a Vert Up here in Canada that sat for 2 years.Cleaned up the tank, tuned up,air filter, plugs, original cat at 180 km and it passed.

Theres no Emissions here. I'm only worried about functionality

Then Dude!, you have it made!.
If price is a factor then you can make up a system cheap.
I personally am a Fan of the Racing Beat stuff.I don't like the Weight of it(heavy) But the stuff will last longer than the damn car will!
Single exhaust can be done too, using a Universal RB can.You just need to pipe it from header to Muffler.
It will be loud so I would look at a presilencer of some sort, maybe another freeflow muffler to act as a presilencer.
