Motorcycle Oil
 

A question has come to me of the usage of motorcycle oil with a rotary engine.

For the scenario of someone who strictly premixes or has a 2 stroke resovoir adapter this only applies to you guys.

It is to my knowledge that motorcycle oil has better lubrication properties as that is it's main purpose in a motorcycle. Unlike car oil which provides additives to help break down carbon and generally clean up an engine along with lubrication.

Has anyone experimented with this or have any general useful input?

While it may not be substantially useful, i am very interested.

I get whatever is cheapest at Wal-mart or whatever the gas station has if i'm in a pinch. I've used some expensive 2-stroke oil before when I could not find any other and did not notice any difference while driving it.

If there was a difference, and I'm not saying there is, it would take a LOT of KMS for you to tell the difference, and you would need to tear the engine down, and also have a control test to base the results off... :P

Certainly. I'd be interested to see the results myself. Either way, it has to be better for the motor than the regurgitated engine oil it was meant to run on.

im very interested in this my self ive heard of people doing this but i would love to hear more on it.
