Mazdatrix engine stand adaptor

After making the mistake of posting this in the Lounge, I thought I'd retry here. Only technical replies please.

I have the Pineapple Racing rotary engine stand adaptor and it works just fine, but I am considering trying the one from Mazdatrix. On their website it mentions that the OD of the pipe that fits into the stand is 2-3/8. I have the 2000 lb model from Harbor Freight. I measured it last night and its ID appears to be just over 2, at maybe 2-1/8, so it seems like it won't fit. I called and asked Mazdatrix and they said that they use the Harbor Freight stands themselves so it should work.

Thus I thought I'd post and see if any of you out there have any direct, personal experience with this combination: Harbor Frieght 1-ton (2000 lbs) engine stand and Mazdatrix rotary engine stand adaptor.

Thanks,

Jerry

The numbers don't lie. HF carries more than one engine stand. Either mazdatrix is lying to make a sale or they have a different model than yours. I would take a measuring tape to the nearest HF and check the ID of the other models.

There is always the 5 gallon bucket engine stand. One size fits all.

Figured it out, thanks. It looks like it will work in the end.

In that video: the weight is not centered on the pivot point of the engine stand.

Here is a pic of how well the engine is centered using a harbor freight engine stand and the Pineapple Racing Engine Stand adapter. It allows you to rotate the engine as needed with very little effort. In the method shown in the video, the weight is off to a side (not good for torquing a flywheel nut by the way) and should you rotate the engine, it will not want to come back up once the weight is at the bottom. ;-)

This is perfectly balanced. I rotate the engine easily by hand. It uses the arms that came with the stand. Why by an adpator?
