Mazda Part Numbers

Is there any place to go on the internet where you can use a Mazda part number to find out exactly what it is and what car it went to?

Thanks!

mazda prt number work like this:
there are 4-2-3+a letter+colorcode.
for example FA01-52-210D
the first 4 tell you what the application is
the second 2 tell you what "system" it is in, 15 is cooling, 17 is manual transmission etc
the next 3 tell you what it is: 52-210 is a left fender, 15-200 is a raditator
the letter is the change code/ how many times its been "updated" its usually an a,b,c,d etc
the next one is the color code, 2 digits, usually a number, like 11 or 00; FA80-57-150-11

so FA01-52-210D is a left fender for an 81-85 rx7, some of the more common application numbers
8871 is 79-80 rx7
FA01 is 81-85 rx7
FB01 is 86-88 rx7
FC01 is 89-91 rx7
FD01 is 92-95 rx7

So your wanting to go backwards? You already have a part number but want to know its application? If you are a Mazda Competition member you can do it on their site, otherwise I think you will have to call the dealer.
