Machining end plates

I have just finshed porting the end plates of my S4 engine, i need to get them machined and am unsure how much to get taken off. Im sure some one out there can help me? Also is it bad to have them machined more then once? Thanks :)

You only take off the minimum amount to make them perfectly flat. Some say to not remove more than .003" as you go below the nitride dept.

Rotor Sports Racing told me that how much is removed does not really matter as the cast iron is still harder than the side seals. What is important is that the LIM still fits and that the e-shaft forward and backward clearance is still good.
