LSD types

can someone explain to me the differences between LSDs. torsen, clutch, viscous. i wanna learn how they all work. i know very BASIC info about clutch and viscous, but a thorough explanation would be great.

From what i know.
A viscus diff will use oil to create drag to keep the wheles going the same speed. light oil = no resistance, heavy oil = grater resistance.

A clutch pack will use a fiber surface (clutch pack) to equelize the wheel speed. ( able to handle way more power ) The grater the diffrance in wheel speed = more clamping force on the clutch pack to equilize the wheel speed. :) I think this is best for having fun! or drifting!

A thorson will transfer power to the wheel with a slower speed :) (more traction). But if one wheel gets going to fast it will act like a viscus diff. :(

Hope this help's!!
Sorry i cant spell.
Im a gear head not a spelling b champ. :)

There are lots of good info out there on how the esoteric details of the internals.
I think the "How Stuff Works" site has a write-up on LSD's?

Most would be interested on "how it feels"...
