Liquid Wrench to Clean Seals/Spring???

Before you go berserk, let me explain. Years ago there were instructions on the containers of Liquid Wrench detailing what percentage to add to oil to clean engines, lifters, oil galleys, etc. I've used it many times with great success on piston engines that had been neglected. Just 1 ex.-I was given a Chevy with a 6cyl that every lifter was noisy. Crud was all around the valve springs/rockers. Put a quart of Liquid Wrench in, let it run for about 2 hours...Only 1 lifter was making a slight tapping. Adjusted it and sold it to a friend of mine. He drove it for 4 years. Same success with a 302 Ford.
Liquid Wrench made by Radiator Specialy has since deleted the instructions. I inquired as to why-They felt the L.W. was not compatable with some newer gasket materials.
I'm not advocating putting it in the oil, but what are some thoughts about placing in housings to clean seals/springs in place of ATF or other concoctions. There is no doubt that it has superior cleaning ability, but any downsides?
