Lighten rotors?

I don't know if this has been discused, but I'm not going to look through the 500+ posts that probably have nothing to do with what I'm wondering.

I know that on little engines with centrifugal clutches (relies on engine speed to expand and grab for friction), you can lighten up the clutch by drilling holes, and it engages at lower rpm's. Well, I got to wondering if this was possible to do with teh rotors, and put less strain on the engine and possibly produce more power due to the less weight to be thrown around. Any previous thoughts about doing this? Anybody tried this before?

There is lightened rotors. I'm not sure how they do it, but I'm sure they already found the best way to do it.

i wouldn't get those unless i was doing a pp....maybe a turbo pp where the engine would actually see 10k rpm a lot.
