Kaixen Hi/Low install problems -
 

Hi i have purchased a H4 hi/low 6.5k kit and am having issues with installation,

I was having trouble figuring out where the long power and ground cable connect to the new bulbs but i figured out that these cable are not needed for the hi/low version am i correct in thinking this ?

So then I set everything out

It all looked fine apart from one of the connectors

This is the connector from the hi/low box to the ballest - in the manual it shows that it should connect straight onto the ballest - but the ballest I have has a cable and a connector coming out of it and the connector on the end of it is a female connector, this is supposed to connect to the other end of the hi/low box but the connector on that is also female ?

so any ideas ? should i have got a converter ?

if any of you have got the hi/low beam version did you have similar issues ? am i correct in assuming the long power cable with the fuse init are not needed for this hi.low bean version ?

Can anyone help on this ?

I had no problems at all... I installed mine in 20 minutes! I used everything in the kit. I'm not sure what you could be having a problem with. I'll go over it tomorrow. Clear your head and unplug everything you have, read, and start over. Sometimes jumping into an install without reading makes for trouble...

Pretty sure you need to use everything that came in the kit. Those two wires are for power so you need that long wire with the fuse/relay in it, one end connects to battery and the other end connects to both those plugs.

PS - The fuses and fuse holders that came with the kit are HORRIBLE and should be swapped out for something better. I was driving down the road one night and one of my headlights just shut off... traced it down to the cheapy fuse holders, cut them out and soldered in some nicer mini fuse holders and now they're fine.

Now I see the problem. You have the new K2 ballast that has the Controller builtin. Remove the Controller part from the hookup and plug the second cable from the ballast into the same receptacles the Controller was plugged into. Somehow the kit you received has the Controllers but you do not need them because you have the new ballast.
