Just replaced coolant seals, how long of break-in?
Ok I just rebuilt my motor 5 monthes ago after a water pump failure that caused blown coolant seals. One was seated bad and was causing me to burn coolant, so I pulled it and replaced JUST the coolant seals.
My question is how long of a break-in on just the coolant seals? The rest of the seals are all in the exact place they came from inside the motor. This is on an 87 n/a. |
None, the break-in time is for the apex seals

How sure are you of this? Im not trying to doubt you, I just dont want to have a shitty running motor.

The collant seals don't really 'wear', so theres no break in. Apex seals, side seals, bearings and the like are all rubbing against something, so theres a break in time to get them to the proper final shape/finish.
