Just Installed my Boost Gauge, Truth now be told...
 

Hey Techies...I'm adding to my original thread of "Secondary Turbo not kicking in". It was mentioned earlier that maybe I have a leak in my Y-pipe. Then someone told me to get a boost gauge and the answer should be half told. So here is what I have found out thus far...of course I already know that I have no secondary boost transition as it should occur at 4,500 RPM. I know this because in 3rd gear, boost slowly drops from 8 lbs... down to 4 lbs by 7,000 rpm. I guess the boost gauge really gives the cold hard truth.
I'm hoping that someone on the forum has had this problem before and was able to fix it, therefore would be able to tell me where I might able to pinpoint first/what to look for.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Have you had a hose job done? If not then I'd suggest having all the vacuum hoses replaced with silicone and zip tied. Have a competant rotary mechanic do this.

Know of any good places in So. Cal. who will do it? Also, are they reasonable? I guess that would be a relevant term. Do you know if Rotary Power in Gardena CA. is any good? I'm actually thinking about having them replace the selenoids too, wanna cover all the bases.

Not sure about that shop, but if M2 is anywhere near you I would go there. Solnoids are expensive, so I wouldn't start replacing them unless you found particular ones to be bad. Although you can often find used solnoids for sale cheep.
