water

I don't know about the later cars, but my 83 runs water through the intake manifold. I would have to guess it's getting in though there if you didn't put the orings back in.

Do you mean you drained the oil and it's full of coolant, or do you mean you see mayonnaise looking crap in the oil filler tube and on the dipstick?

See there's no way for the coolant to get into the oil because of an intake manifold gasket leak... the two systemsaren't even close. The oil way coolant can get into the oil is if a rotor housing outer coolant seal leaks into the oil... but the outers RARELY leak (I've never heard of it) and it would have to be in a certain location to get into the oil.

But the second scenario is very common, especially on 1st-gens, especially especially on 1st-gens after you remove the rat's nest of vacuum hoses. It's condensation. The top corner of the engine where the dipstick and oil filler are doesn't get very hot, and moisture can't boil out of the oil, so it collects there. Most probably when you did the intake manifold gasket you didn't hook up the vacuum hoses properly.
