J-spec Turbo II engine 1989-91

I need to find out how to get this engine cheap and who can tell me how or where I can get someone to install it into a nonTurbo A-spec 1986 Mazda RX-7. I can spend $1500 or so but not right away and I need to know is just rebuilding my crappy stock engine and getting turbo installed is better. I want J-spec though but can't always get what I want :p: :pity: Any help would be appreciated. This is my first RX-7 and when I get a new engine it will race. Rotaries Rock!!!

You might want to do a search for "jspec" or something similar to find a dealer. To get a turbo Jspec running in an NA you will need more than $1500, sorry:) Unless you get a front clip with the ECU but then you will have to stick with the NA tranny to keep under $1500. To change out the trannies and stuff it will be a lot of work. It has been covered quite a few times on this forum so you should be able to find some good info.

I am getting an 89-91 front clip within a week and am doing the same thing, an 86 N/A to T2 conversion. I'm pretty nervous about doing the swap. I've rebuilt and replaced a Nissan Z24 engine before, but that was pretty standard. But this stuff.....oh boy, what am I getting myself into. Anyhow try checking The Parts Trader , which is where I found my front clip (which is also including the tranny, d-shaft, and rear end suspension). Good luck!
