its it possible to sands rotors?
 
is it possible to sand rotors and the sides of the rotor housings?
the rotors have real bad caked up carbon that wont come off in the parts washer....the housing has stains from where the gaskets were can those be sanded or clean???? what are some ways to clean these thing up?

Don't sand them. No matter the amount of carbon build up. Use Methal Ethal Ketone (very toxic so wear all the apropriate protective stuff) You can buy mek at home depo. Use a toothbrush and a paintbrush to apply and scrub with a plastic bristle brush. Like the kind you would use on tile. MEK will cut the carbon down and compressed air will blow it clean. Repeat a couple times and your rotors will be clean as new. This method I recently used with excellent results and is what the rebuild manuals say to do. Sanding will ruin the cromium housings and you dont want that. Email me if you need more detailed instructions on handeling this stuff. Good luck

You could possibly sand the rotors a little without doing too much damage, but the cleaner is way better and easier. Sanding them till there clean will take alot of time. And absolutely no on the housings; they shouldn't be that dirty if its chips and scratches your trying to sand down forget it they are probably bad.
