INTERESTED in a FC, need some help!

Hey guys, i'm really interested in getting a FC, and i'm leaning towards a NON turbo 89-91.

Anywho, i've read the FAQ write ups and i know more or less what to look for, but i was just curious, and i want an UNBAISED opinion of the infamous/famous rotary.

How bad/good are these engines really, i've heard sooo many stories both good and bad, and i figure who else can tell me better then actual FC owners.

How are these cars on fuel consumption? Just curious as i do a lot of travelling!

Any help would be grealy appreciated

Thanks guys!

can't beat the 7 in reliability if taken car of properly and relitively unmoded. as long as u replace most everything(major things) then u will be fine...just dont have a s4/s5 swap like me :banghead:

mileage = sucky even in a n/a. don't expect to get 30+ mpg like a civic.

n/a's can be super reliable if properly cared for.

yes, alot of it depends on how well you can take of her.

but, alot of it also depends on how well the previous owner(s) took care of her before you got her. that's always going to be an unknown when buying a used FC.

If you're worried about reliabilty, go look for another car.

The engines are all approaching limits of their normal lifetime, and a rebuild is highly recommended.
Parts can be either dirt cheap (used) or incredibly expensive (NA engine parts are all discontinued from Mazda).

The cars can be made reliable, but it's SEVERAL thousands of dollars of initial upkeep...
