Intercooler fluid?
Hey guys just got my first fd3s it has a stock intercooler and wanted to change The fluid was wondering what people are putting in there?

You can drain it by first removing the flux capacitor underneath the cross member, you'll see the drain plug there.
The plug is 14.5mm, be sure to get the right socket. Good luck |

Fill with intercooler fluid ....
KY makes some that is very good at lubricating. |
The intercooler is part of the AIR intake system so it needs to be filled with NOTHING but the air that the engine will eventually ingest when it is running.
NOW the Radiator is filled with Coolant and can be replaced with any popular type Ethyl Glycol based coolant such as Prestone...usually a 50% coolant and 50% water mix.You can get it premixed or buy concentrate and mix it to a suitable ratio. |
If you're talking about the RADIATOR be sure to fill it with antifreeze and water like misterstyx69 said. BUT be sure that you ONLY use distilled (demineralized) water with it (none of that tap water bullshit) when you cut your concentrate to a 50/50 or 60/40 water/antifreeze mix..
If you're talking about what fluid to put in your stock INTERCOOLER then just go ahead and return your FD to whoever you bought it from, apologize for the mistake, and move on to something more your speed... like a Honda Ruckus. |
