Idle speed help!
My 88 turbo idles at 1500 The bac is closed but it still idles high where should I adjust next?

A few ideas:
- throttle cable too tight - dashpot misadjusted - primary throttle plates clearance out of spec (unlikely) - lock nut (8mm) on top of intake opens throttle plates too much BTW, idle speed should be adjusted with initial set coupler jumped Hugues - |
this should be number 3, the thermowax is stuck/bad/has air in it.

good call j9fd3s, I forgot about that one.
the thermowax keeps the throttle plates open to let the engine warm up (fast idle) for a few minutes. If its cam does not disengage, the idle will stay high. hugues - |
I just rebuilt the engine it seems to be running fine all but idle speed I know that the fast idle cam is out of adjustment when i adjust the cam to the 2 marks on the roller it doesnt want to take gas and runs terrible how can I solve this problem when I open the bac at all it idles erratically it is closed now. It also will not start after it is warm like I posted earlier.

i would say its either a vacuum leak or a misrouted vacuum line. on my t2 i had the routing of the acv hoses wrong, once i fixed it, it wanted to start hot

Primary throttle plates were out of spec fixed now runs fine. Thanx for info!

idle speed should be adjusted with initial set coupler jumped
how do you do this? |
The 2 wire green plug behind the battery next to the coil pack You should jump the 2 wires together then adjust the BAC The haynes manual explains this in detail
