How to Reset a Pegged Greddy Gauge
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum or not.
While googling for how to fix my Greddy water temp gauge, I noticed that this seems to be a common problem with no clear fix, so I'm posting the solution that worked for me. My gauge was pegged at the maximum position presumably due to being wired incorrectly. With the gauge powered up I bridged the terminals at the sender connector for the gauge with a 680 ohm resistor that I had lying around. The gauge resumed normal function. A jumper wire might work too, but I didn't want to risk shorting anything out. Hopefully someone will find this useful one day. |

you are an absolute f$cking ledgend, i had the same problem and had been trying to fix my gauge and reasearching on google etc showed nothing so i went a got the drill out then sat down at my desk and thought i'll try typing reset greddy gauge and your thread came up i just shorted out the sensor wires and wow it worked i will buy you a beer if i ever meet you and a carton for the ride home and one million dollars. seriously thanks man i joined the club and got three posts so i could just reply to ur thread v. helpful thanks agian.

Thank you for the post. I know its old but how did you do it. I have those resistors in my closet in my electrical toolbox. Where did you install it at cause I have 2 gauges that do the same thing. Both temp gauges, if it works I'll get the other temp sensor and run it for my oil temp. Sorry to dig it from the grave but it will help thousands with this answer... Thanks
